

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show cause order against the owners of a truck and a sedan involved in two separate major accidents in Atimonan, Quezon and Noveleta, Cavite.
In a report by RH 5 Val Gonzales, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle along Maharlika Highway in Atimonan, resulting in a collision with two other trucks on Friday, May 16. Moreover, the accident claimed his life shortly after, and injured five other people.
According to the LTO, the truck owner has been ordered to come forward with an explanation for the incident.
Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan crashed into another vehicle, reversed into pedestrians and a light post, then struck a parked tricycle after having made a turn toward Noveleta proper.
At least five people, including the sedan driver who lost consciousness following the incident, were rushed to different hospitals for medical attention.
The female driver was suspended for 90 days. Additionally, she and the sedan owner have been called to provide an explanation for the mishap.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon said the agency will continue to pursue drivers and operators who endanger passengers by automatically suspending their licenses pending investigations.
