Over 800,000 passengers flocked to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) on Monday, April 14, ahead of the expected surge of travelers by the end of the Holy Week exodus.

The report by RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort for the DZRH News’ The Situation Report stated that ticket counters had short queues this afternoon. In contrast to previous days where crowds lined up along the ticket counters, the situation at PITX on Monday afternoon was observed to have short lines, especially for the Bicol trip.

However, this is expected to change around Thursday, April 17, as over 2.5 million travelers are expected to show up, as mentioned by the PITX Spokesperson, Atty. Jason Salvador, during the DZRH Public Service Hour last week.

Moreover, passengers are expected to crowd the terminal by the end of the Holy Week exodus, during the evening bus trips, as most passengers are scheduled to depart the city during the nighttime.

Meanwhile, the report also indicated that some bus trips are now fully booked, but that bus trips to Bicol are still accommodating passengers.

Earlier today, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon inspected the terminal and observed that traffic congestion is causing some buses from Bicol to have a three-hour delay.

As of 3 PM, an additional 101,700 passengers were observed to have arrived at the terminal.
