The Office of the Senate Seargent-At-Arms (OSAA) presented the designated detention facility that will be put to use once suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, and her family members are taken into custody.
OSAA Chief Retired Lt. General Roberto Ancan showed that the room is equipped with an aircon, bunk beds, sink, water dispenser, and comfort room.
According to Ancan, Guo and her family will be supplied with bedding and pillows. However, if they prefer to bring their own, it won't be an issue.
The facility was refurbished last year from being a daycare center to accommodate potential detainees if the Senate needs to hold more people. Guo and her family will be the first to use it if they surrender or get arrested by the OSAA.
Heavily guarded by the OSAA, the facility is situated next to the Philippine National Police-Senate Security Unit.
Guo is embattled for her alleged affiliation with the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in her municipality where she stands as the incumbent mayor.
On July 10, Senate panel cited Alice Guo in contempt for her recent absence in the Senate investigation on illegal POGOs in the Philippines.
An arrest order dated July 11 was issued still for Guo's continued ‘no-show’ status amidst the investigation.
Out of the eight people facing arrest orders, only Nancy Gamo has been captured and taken to the Senate. The others, including Mayor Guo, remain at large.
