A couple who were online sellers were shot dead by riding-in-tandem assailants while driving their pickup truck in Mexico, Pampanga on Friday, October 4.
In a report by RH Grace Sansano, CCTV footage revealed that the suspects, two men on a motorcycle, were trailing the victims' vehicle. Due to a mixer truck slowing down traffic, the suspects were forced to turn around and approach the pickup truck on foot.
Moments later, multiple gunshots were heard, and the couple was fatally shot. The assailants quickly fled the scene on their motorcycle, heading north.
The couple’s child and a relative were also in the vehicle and witnessed the tragic crime.
The couple ran a beauty product business and were active online sellers.
Authorities reported that the man victim sustained six gunshot wounds, while his wife was hit three times. Both were seated in the front.
Fortunately, the couple's six-year-old child and their minor relative survived the attack.
Investigators have already identified persons of interest, and one of the potential motives being considered is related to loans or business dealings.
The PNP also believes that the crime was premeditated and carefully planned.
Central Luzon Regional Director BGen. Redrico Maranan appealed to anyone with information to come forward and assist in solving the case.
