

The COVID-19 positivity rate in the country declined marginally to 9.4 percent on June 21, OCTA Research fellow Guido David reported on Wednesday.
Based on David's latest updates, the positivity rate was slightly lower than the 9.5 percent recorded the day before.
Given this data, David predicted that there will be 500 to 600 new COVID-19 cases on June 22.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), the country had 497 new COVID-19 infections as of Wednesday evening, with the majority of cases coming from Metro Manila.
The DOH previously reported that it had discovered 80 COVID-19 Omicron subvariants in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and Western Visayas.
Of the 80, 73 were from Western Visayas and the remaining seven were from CAR.
Meanwhile, the DOH's COVID-19 tracker showed the country has 4,160,651 confirmed COVID-19 infections as of June 21, with 8,275 active cases.
At least 4,085,894 patients had recovered while 66,482 died.
