Daily COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) could reach 250 on Wednesday, according to OCTA Research, while nationwide cases could hit 500.
"Expecting 250 new cases in the NCR on June 15, 2022 and 450 to 500 nationwide," said OCTA fellow Guido David on Twitter.
David made the prediction as to the single-day positivity in the NCR jumped to four percent, while the reproduction number accelerated to 1.59.
NCR on Tuesday reported 257 new COVID-19 cases, according to David, higher than OCTA's forecast of 230 for the day.
The increasing COVID-19 cases came as the Department of Health hints at the possibility of raising the alert level in Metro Manila should daily infections continue to go up.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that hospital admissions continue to increase, and the government will place NCR under Alert Level 2.
