The National Security Council (NSC) will carefully examine a documentary by the international media network Al Jazeera, which mentioned that Guo Hua Ping, also known as Alice Guo, is a spy from China.
According to NSC Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya, they will validate the statements made by She Zhijiang and consult with partner intelligence agencies abroad to piece together the stories and uncover the true identity of Alice Guo.
Previously, Davao Oriental 2nd District Representative Cheeno Almario presented the Al Jazeera documentary regarding the case of self-confessed Chinese spy She Zhijiang during the seventh House quad-committee hearing on September 27.
She Zhijiang is currently imprisoned in Thailand for several crimes related to human trafficking and scams he is involved in.
Allegedly, She Zhijiang possesses an encrypted file containing a dossier on dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, which includes her real name, her residential address in China, and even her mother’s name.
However, Malaya stated that they cannot simply trust a single report, especially since She Zhijiang is also facing extradition charges.
He indicated that this could potentially be a disinformation campaign intended to garner attention and sympathy from the international community to prevent his extradition to China.
Therefore, the NSC must exercise caution in determining whether his claims are true or if he is implicating others.
Furthermore, he indicated that the issue surrounding Guo can also be considered significant, as even international publications have shown interest in her story.
