The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) informed the employees that the “no work, no pay” principle would apply for special non-working holidays from October 30 to November 2.
“If the employee did not work, the ‘no work, no pay’ principle shall apply, unless there is a favorable company policy, practice, or collective bargaining agreement granting payment on a special day,” DOLE said in a statement.
The labor and employment department also listed down the proper payment of wages for those who opt to work on said days.
An additional 30 percent of an employee’s wage during the first 8 hours of work will be paid if they work on the special day.
For overtime work, employees will be paid an additional 30 percent of the hourly rate.
Employees who will be working on their rest days, they will receive an added 50 percent of their basic wage on the first 8 hours while an added 30 percent for overtime work.
