The management of North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation on Wednesday announced the temporary closure of the public access point to the Philippine Arena in Bulacan for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
In an advisory, NLEX Corporation management said the access points including Ciudad de Victoria toll plaza northbound exit, southbound ramp exit, Igulot intersection access via Mc Arthur highway, and Gate 3 at Bgy. Bolakan will be closed to the public at 5:30 PM this Friday, August 25.
"Only P2P [point-to-point] buses and vehicles authorized by FIBA with valid Vehicle Access and Parking Permits will be allowed to enter Ciudad de Victoria," it noted.
The NLEX Corporation urged the public to take alternative routes in the Municipalities of Marilao, Bocaue, or Tambubong.
In a separate advisory, NLEX Corporation advised the public to expect a high volume of traffic.
It also informed motorists that selected municipalities in Bulacan will implement a truck ban.
"Traffic personnel will be deployed in strategic areas to ensure a safe and smooth journey," NLEX Corporation said.
The 19th edition of the prestigious FIBA Basketball World Cup will run from August 25 until September 10.
This year's international basketball competition is co-hosted by the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia.
