The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has put Visayas Grid on yellow alert on Monday, May 20.

In its latest advisory, the NGCP said the yellow alert will take effect from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The grid's available capacity is at 2,675 megawatts with a peak demand of 2,575 megawatts.

"1 plant has been on forced outage since 2022, 2 since 2023, 2 between January and March 2024, and 11 power plants between April and May 2024; while 7 are running on derated capacities, for a total of 553.4MW unavailable to the grid.," the NGCP's advisory said.
