

The country on Wednesday reported 10,775 new cases of COVID-19, nearly double the number of infections tallied the day before.
In the latest case bulletin from the Department of Health (DOH), the new cases push the country's overall caseload to 2,871,745.
Among the cases, 39,974 are active, which is 1.4% of the total infections. Most of the cases are mild with 33,866 patients; 2,983 are moderate cases; 1,512 are severe; 1,294 are asymptomatic, and 319 are critical.
Meanwhile, the number of new recoveries hit 605 to bring the total to 2,780,109.
Fifty-eight more people died, according to the DOH, raising the death toll to 51,662.
In terms of utilization of intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 27% are being used across the country, 31% of isolation beds are being utilized, 23% of ward beds are being used, and 13% of ventilators are being utilized.
In the National Capital Region, 37% of ICU beds are used, 39% of isolation beds are used, 45% of ward beds are utilized, and 18% of ventilators are used.
Amid the increasing number of cases, the DOH reminded the public to avoid being complacent due to the threat of COVID-19.
"Pinapaalalahanan ang lahat na huwag maging kampante sa banta ng COVID-19. Bagkus, dapat natin ipagpatuloy ang tamang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards at laging magsuot ng facemask, mag physical distancing, at maghugas ng kamay," it said.
(Everyone is reminded to avoid being complacent amid the threat of COVID-19. Instead, everyone should continue following the minimum public health standards and always wear facemasks, observe physical distancing, and wash their hands.)
"Sa oras na makaramdam ng sintomas, agad na mag-isolate at magpatest. Tandaan ang right test at the right time. Agad rin na magpabakuna upang makakuha ng dagdag na proteksyon laban sa COVID-19."
