

The death toll due to the recent torrential rains and floods, caused by the Southwest Monsoon, or habagat which was exacerbated by Typhoon Egay, has risen to 29, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
According to the disaster office, the destruction affected over 3 million individuals, or 805,621 families, across the country.
A total of 287,000 individuals sought refuge in 648 evacuation shelters.
About 165 people were injured and 11 people were still missing.
Meanwhile, the cost of infrastructure damage has been calculated at P3.631 billion.
The NDRRMC said around 54,400 houses were damaged and 2,200 buildings got destroyed.
The agricultural damage was estimated to be P1.950 billion.
Eleven provinces and 18 cities or municipalities have declared a state of calamity.
The government has disbursed approximately P275 million in assistance.
