The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has reported no security threats in observance of the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
NCRPO Director PBGen. Anthony Aberin informed DZRH that no security threats have been detected concerning the upcoming gatherings. However, the NCRPO continues its proactive monitoring through close collaboration with other agencies to ensure the EDSA rallies remain peaceful and orderly.
Over 8,000 police officers have been deployed to maintain order during the EDSA rally.
Aberin further reminded rally participants that a permit is required, except for those gathering at designated freedom parks in each city.
Additionally, more than 70 activists and civil society groups are set to hold a demonstration at the People Power Monument in Quezon City.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the People Power Monument, led by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines alongside various groups, with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte also in attendance.
