Metro Manila police officers seized over PHP 10.7 million in illegal drugs from January 23 to 29, according to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, deputy regional director for operations at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, said these illegal drugs were seized from 348 police operations during the period.
He also stated that 486 drug suspects were apprehended.
Wanky also stated that these operations resulted in the arrest of 17 people for illegally possessing firearms as well as the seizure of 19 firearms.
During the same briefing, victims of sensational crimes, their families, and relatives expressed gratitude to the NCRPO for its efforts in apprehending suspects wanted for various crimes through the service of arrest warrants.
The suspects were arrested on suspicion of murder, homicide, rape, robbery with homicide, and other charges.
