At least five individuals perished in a fire that hit a residential area in Barangay Bagumbayan in Navotas City on Monday evening, November 14.
An initial report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) identified the fatalities as Teresa Lopez (40), Darlene Baluyot (19), Asuncion Tongco Gonzales (50), Diorella Gonzales (18), and a two-year-old boy.
Two others were injured in the fire, they were identified as Carlos Oledan (51) and Josefina Sarate (64).
According to the BFP’s report, the fire started at 3:57 p.m. and reached the fifth alarm at 6:11 p.m.
The fire was declared officially out by 9:22 p.m.
The Navotas DRRMO said a total of 111 families were affected in the fire, 98 of which were families residing at BBN, and 11 families were residents of Navotas West.
