The National Police Commission (Napolcom) is reportedly considering the permanent takedown or closure of the social media pages of Norman Mangusin, also known as “Francis Leo Marcos.”
According to a report by Val Gonzales during Damdaming Bayan, the move comes after Mangusin allegedly wore a police uniform and acted in a way that disrespected and mocked the national police.
Napolcom Commissioner Atty. Rafael Vicente Calinisan said the commission is serious about pursuing cases against Mangusin, whom he described as a “clout chaser.”
Calinisan added that Napolcom has already deployed teams to Baguio, Caloocan, Pampanga, Manila, Quezon City, and Makati to review the series of cases filed against Mangusin.
Meanwhile, Napolcom is coordinating with Meta management and other social media platforms regarding the potential takedown of Mangusin’s accounts.
Earlier, Commissioner Calinisan directed the Napolcom Legal Affairs Service and the Inspection, Monitoring, and Investigation Service to coordinate with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and prepare cases against Mangusin for violations of Article 179 of the Revised Penal Code.
