Mylah Roque, wife of the former presidential spokesperson Hatty Roque, called House quad-committee chairperson Ace Barbers "abusive" for linking her as an incorporator of Lucky South 99, a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub located in Porac, Pampanga.
"He abuses his immunity from libel with a claim that I am an incorporator of Lucky South even when there is no single document linking me to it," Roque said in a Facebook post on Saturday.
Roque asserted that she flew to Singapore for treatment, but the committee reportedly refused to accept her reason, along with her medical certificates.
"I traveled because I have a right to travel as guaranteed by the constitution," said Roque.
"And Cong Barbers, you are not somebody who can declare my family “wasak.” Check your mirror," she added.
In the previous hearing, the House quad panel investigating the alleged criminal activities of POGOs issued a show cause order against Mylah Roque, aiming to compel her to attend its hearings after her repeated absences.
Her husband was linked to Lucky South 99 after several government agencies disclosed that he had served as legal counsel for the raided POGO hub.
The same committee panel cited Harry Roque for contempt due to his failure to submit documents related to his personal assets.
Authorities attempted to serve the arrest order issued by the House quad-committee against him at his law firm in Makati, but he was not located at the specified address.
The former spokesperson reiterated that he is not a fugitive evading the law, but only a fugitive in Congress, emphasizing that he will wait for the Supreme Court’s decision instead.
