In celebration of the 124th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service, the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will offer free rides to government employees from September 18 to 20.
"May handog na LIBRENG SAKAY ang MRT-3 para sa mga kawani ng gobyerno mula Setyembre 18 hanggang 20, bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng anibersaryo ng Philippine Civil Service," DOTr MRT-3 posted on Tuesday.
The Department of Transportation stated in a Facebook post on Tuesday that government employees can avail of the free train rides by simply presenting their government agency IDs to station personnel.
"Kinakailangan lamang na magpakita ng employee ID sa station personnel upang mapatunayan na sila ay kawani ng gobyerno at makatanggap ng LIBRENG SAKAY," DOTR said.
MRT-3 General Manager Oscar Bongon extended his gratitude to all government employees who serve diligently for the public's welfare.
"Layon ng LIBRENG SAKAY ng MRT-3 na makapaghatid ng kahit kaunting kasiyahan sa kanila na tanda ng aming pagsaludo at pasasalamat sa kanilang mga sakripisyo. Mabuhay ang mga kawani ng gobyerno!" Bongon said.
The first train departs from North Avenue Station at 4:30 a.m., and from Taft Avenue Station at 5:05 a.m. Meanwhile, the last train leaves North Avenue Station at 9:30 p.m. and Taft Avenue Station at 10:09 p.m.
On the other hand, LRT-2 passengers can avail of the free rides from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
