The Manila Police District (MPD) Director PBGen. Arnold Thomas Ibay reminded those who will participate in Traslacion 2025, to secure their belongings and trash during the procession of Jesus Nazareno.

In a Balansyado exclusive, the MPD Director said that attendees are allowed to bring their own food during the procession, but are highly encouraged to properly dispose of their garbage. He discourages the public from leaving the trash piled up in the area.

Kasi po yearly nagiging problema po natin ‘yan yung basura,” he said.

Additionally, Ibay also mentioned that people are prohibited from bringing any harmful objects, as the area will be packed with people.

Aside from the stacked trash collected, one of the issues that attendees have during the event is the lack of public bathrooms. However, Ibay stated that they have yet to verify who will be the one assigned to the matter. They are tapping their partner agencies to meet the needs of devotees.

Meanwhile, vendors are encouraged to set up their stations away from the traslacion routes. Ibay noted that the materials they use like gas stoves and barbecue sticks may cause accidents. To prevent this, they are advised to consider the routes provided.

The MPD also tapped telecommunications for a possible signal interruption on Thursday, during the procession. However, Ibay said that it is unclear whether the telecommunications will approve their request on the matter. Still, the public is reminded of the possibility of a signal interruption.

“Kaya paabiso na rin sa ating kababayan na pupunta dito sa may area ng Maynila, lalong-lalo na dyan sa paligid ng [Quirino] Grandstand, Quiapo, baka po mawalan tayo ng signal; which we termed as signal interruption,” he said.

“It will not be coming from us. It will be coming from the telcos.

“Alam ko, it causes a lot of inconvenience to everyone, so please bear with us. Lawakan po natin ang ating pag-unawa at pasensya,” the MPD Director ended.

On Sunday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that they will implement comprehensive security measures to ensure a safe and orderly procession for the devotees of Traslacion.
