The Philippine National Police conducted a total of 23,515 anti-illegal drug operations from January 1, 2024 until June 21, 2024
During a press briefing on Monday, June 24, Department of Interior and Local Government Sec. Benjamin Abalos said that the operations resulted to the seizure of more than Php 13.6 billion worth of illegal drugs since the start of 2024.
Based on the report of the PNP, the seized drugs include 1,779,736 grams of shabu or crystallized methamphetamine, 3,599,042 grams of dried marijuana, 27,620 grams of cocaine, 4,177 grams of ecstasy, and 4,951,655 pieces of marijuana plants.
Abalos said that authorities also apprehended 28,804 suspects involved in the illegal drug trade.
DILG chief also mentioned that PNP conducted 111 anti-illegal drup operations from June 17 to June 21, 2024.
The said operations led to the seizure of more than Php 52 million worth of illegal drugs, and the apprehension of 123 individuals.
