A fireworks display reportedly blew off in Quezon Blvd., Manila despite the two-day firework ban imposed by the Manila City local government unit (LGU) for the Black Nazarene's feast day on Tuesday, January 9.
In a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, there were erring residents using fireworks along Quezon Blvd. as the andas or carriage carrying the image of the Black Nazarene made its way to its final destination, the Quiapo Church.
Fireworks, according to Parrosa, were usually the devotees' way to celebrate the return of the Black Nazarene in the Minor Basilica and the National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno.
