Electric consumers at Manila Electric Company (Meralco) should brace themselves, as charges in their bills will increase this October.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga said that the charge on the electricity bill will increase by P0.42/kwh for the month of October.

Zaldarriaga noted that increase is due to the rise in generation, transmission, and universal charges.

Gencharge increased by P0.30/kwh.
