Meralco has issued a notice regarding the increase in charges this August 2025 in their social media post, on Monday.

The electric power distributor announced a P0.63 per kilowatt-hours (kWh) increase in electricity rates for a typical household, bearing an overall electricity rate of P13.27 per kWh, which applies to the bills dated August 8 to 29, 2025.

Households consuming a certain kWh should expect the following amount per consumption:

• 200 kwh = P125
• 300 kwh = P188
• 400 kwh = P251
• 500 kwh = P313

According to Meralco, the increase rate is due to the higher generation and transmission charges. However, there are no changes in Meralco distribution charge.
