American-Canadian actor Matthew Perry, best known as Chandler Bing in the hit 90’s American sitcom “Friends”, reportedly passed away.

His passing was first reported by the American celebrity news website, TMZ.

“[S]ources tell us he actually died at his own house after some physical activity this morning,” TMZ said in a news article published at 5 PM on Saturday, Oct. 28.

“We're told Matthew came home sometime in the AM after a 2-hour round of pickleball, and that he sent his assistant out on [an] errand shortly thereafter. We're told when the assistant returned about 2 hours later, he discovered Matthew unresponsive ... and called 911,” it added.

The celebrity news website stated that the assistant particularly found the 54-year-old actor in his jacuzzi.

“[W]e're told there were no drugs found at the scene. We're also told there is no foul play involved,” TMZ said.

In 1994, Matthew rose to fame after his portrayal of a funny, sarcastic, and romantic character named Chandler in “Friends” which ran until 2004.

Following the immense success of the sitcom, Matthew starred in several television shows and films.

Thousands had expressed their sorrow with the actor’s passing on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday, Oct. 29.

“We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans,” Warner Bros. TV said in a post.

“We are incredibly saddened by the too soon passing of Matthew Perry. He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch perfect comedic timing and wry wit. His legacy will live on through countless generations,” NBC Entertainment said.

“Rest in Peace Matthew Perry, You provided millions of people all around the world with laughter and comfort. Thank you for being our Chandler Bing,” a user said.
