Nearly 1,000 families were displaced on Saturday after a massive fire broke out along Aroma Road 10, Barangay 105 in Tondo, Manila, prompting authorities to raise the alert to Task Force Bravo.
According to Manila Social Welfare Director Re Fugoso, this equates to around 5,000 individuals, with seven injured.

"Ang aming Kagawaran ay nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga lokal na awtoridad at emergency services upang agad na makapagbigay ng tulong sa mga apektadong pamilya at indibidwal," Manila Department of Social Welfare said in their disaster report on Saturday.
"Naroon din ang ating mga social worker upang magbigay ng emosyonal at sikolohikal na suporta kung kinakailangan," the agency further added.
The fire broke out just before noon, with the alarm being raised to Task Force Bravo by 1:34 PM.
At exactly 6:23 PM, it was announced that the fire that had broken out was under control. It took over 12 hours to control the fire, which was finally put out at midnight.
The Bureau of Fire Protection reported that nine buildings were affected by the incident, with five sustaining damage.
The fire spread rapidly through the houses built from light materials. The cause of the blaze and the damage assessment are still being reviewed.
The Philippine Air Force also assisted by using a bambi bucket to help extinguish the fire.
