President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. underlined on Thursday, August 3, the need to tap the technology and tools available to showcase Filipino excellence in the creative industry.
Marcos made the remark during the oathtaking of the new set of officers of the Actors Guild of the Philippines, or the Katipunan ng mga Artistang Pilipino sa Pelikula at Telebisyon (KAPPT).
"I hope that, as you secure the well-being of your colleagues, you will continue to strive to raise the standards of our films and our shows at the same time," the president said in his speech.
"It is also my wish that you make use of and maximize the advantages brought about by new tools, new technologies, new platforms to showcase Filipino excellence and artistry on the world stage," he added.
Marcos said they now have more options than ever to promote traditions and values due to the creative fusion of technical advancements and acting talent.
Meanwhile, he acknowledged the creation of the KAPPT for having "upheld the welfare of local film and television industry workers, given jobs and opportunities to our fellow Filipinos, and brought dynamism to our economy."
