

The Armed Forces of the Philippines terminated the appointment of Maj. Gen. Jesus Nelson Morales as Commander of the Presidential Security Command (PSC), with BGen. Peter Burgonio now taking over the role.
Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro confirmed that Burgonio will assume an acting capacity, effective Tuesday, March 4.
AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner signed the general orders on Burgonio's appointment.
The Palace did not provide a statement regarding the reason for BGen. Morales' removal from his post.
Morales was appointed as the head of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) in October 2023.
The PSG is a specialized unit responsible for safeguarding the President of the Philippines, their immediate family, former presidents, and visiting heads of state.
