On Wednesday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issued several proclamations declaring special non-working holidays in various regions across the country.
Here is the complete list of the special non-working holidays that have been declared:
- September 20, 2024 - Dingras, Ilocos Norte
- September 21, 2024 - San Mateo, Rizal
- October 4, 2024 - Mountain Province
- October 7, 2024 - Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur
- October 23, 2024 - Narvacan, Ilocos Sur
- October 24, 2024 - Pili, Camarines Sur
- October 25, 2024 - Lemery, Batangas
Under Proclamation No. 680, a special non-working day has been declared in Dingras to honor Josefa Llanes-Escoda, a World War II heroine and founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. This day commemorates Llanes-Escoda's birth on September 20, 1898.
Proclamation No. 681 designates September 21 as a special non-working day to mark the 452nd founding anniversary of San Mateo, Rizal. This allows residents to participate in and enjoy the celebrations.
Similarly, Proclamation No. 682 designates October 4 as a special non-working day in Mountain Province to celebrate Provincial Indigenous People's Day.
Proclamation No. 683 designates October 7 for the celebration of the 33rd Araw ng Guipos in Zamboanga del Sur. Meanwhile, Proclamation No. 684 establishes October 23 as a special non-working day for Narvacan to celebrate Aldaw Ti Wayawaya-lli A Narvacan.
To allow for the celebration of the Cimarrones Festival on October 24, President Marcos issued Proclamation No. 685.
Lastly, Proclamation No. 686 declares October 25 as a special non-working holiday in Lemery, Batangas, to celebrate its founding anniversary.
