President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., accompanied by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, attended the inauguration of Indonesia's new leaders, President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, which took place in Jakarta today, October 20.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the first couple departed at five in the afternoon yesterday and arrived in Indonesia shortly after eight in the evening.

Marcos's attendance at the inauguration of the leaders is a confirmation of the deep friendship between the Philippines and Indonesia.

This also serves as proof of the country's ongoing commitment to expand and deepen the bilateral relations between the two nations.

President-elect Prabowo Subianto previously visited the Philippines last month and promised to further strengthen the long-standing relationship between the Philippines and Indonesia.

Moreover, this year marks the 75th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Indonesia, a fellow founding member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), is one of the Philippines' enduring partners in the region.
