

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has named Atty. Rafael Vicente Calinisan as the new vice chairperson and executive officer (VCEO) of the National Police Commission (Napolcom).
In a social media post, Napolcom welcomed Calinisan on the appointment.
Prior to his latest appoinment, Calinisan was picked as the Napolcom commisioner representing the civilian sector in November 2024.
Moreover, Atty. Calinisan served for four years as the chairman and executive officer of Quezon City's People's Law Enforcement Board (PLEB), where he set a landmark zero-case backlog and the nation's fastest case resolution time of 60 days.
In addition, he served as a Technical Assistant in the Office of the President from 2010 until 2016, also a Managing Partner at his own law office, the Calinisan, Domino & Beron Law Offices, and an Associate at ACCRALAW.
Calinisan took over former VCEO Atty. Ricardo Bernabe III in the position.
Dawn Chang, Calinisan's girlfriend and an actress-dancer, also expressed support for his appointment.
