Senatorial aspirant Luis "Manong Chavit" Singson is ramping up efforts to share his vision for the country, making stops in Central Luzon and Western Mindanao last week.

During his visits, he met with grassroots leaders, local officials, community members, and the media to lay out his plans for inclusive economic growth and modernization.

Fresh from a business trip to South Korea, Singson shared his priorities for the Senate, which include promoting financial inclusion through VBank, introducing electric vehicles for public transportation, and rolling out the Chavit 500 program to provide universal basic income to Filipinos.

On December 11, Singson spoke to members of the Circulation Management Association of the Philippines (CMAP) during their Christmas party. He emphasized the crucial role of media in the country’s development while extending support to the organization, which was warmly received by its members.

The next day, he met with the Angeles City Association of Barangay Councils at Choi Garden Place in Clark, Pampanga, where he discussed the transformative potential of VBank. The digital banking platform aims to make financial services more accessible, especially in underserved areas and for those without access to traditional banking.

In Candaba, Pampanga, Singson joined Mayor Rene Maglaque in distributing cash payouts to displaced workers under the TUPAD program. Singson highlighted his commitment to creating jobs and pushing for economic reforms to attract more investors and entrepreneurs.

Singson continued his journey in Dipolog City, Mindanao, where he met with local leaders to share his economic agenda. He stressed the importance of eliminating bureaucratic red tape to foster investments, particularly in regions like Zamboanga.

"Kailangan natin ng investments, lalo sa mga rehiyon gaya ng Zamboanga upang magkaroon ng mas maraming oportunidad na magkatrabaho," he explained.

"Kailangan nating padaliin ang pagnenegosyo sa bansa kaya dapat maalis na natin ang red tape na humaharang sa ating progreso," he added.

In Zamboanga City, Singson met with Mayor John Dalipe, transport groups, senior citizens, and barangay officials. His proposal to modernize the country’s public transportation system was well-received, with transport groups expressing their full support for his initiative.

Singson also announced that VBank services would soon be accessible in municipalities across the region, making banking easier and more inclusive. The platform allows users to open an account without an initial deposit or maintaining balance, with minimal documentary requirements.

To wrap up his week, Singson attended the 105th Grand Alumni Homecoming of Western Mindanao State University (WMSU). There, he outlined his vision to industrialize Mindanao, focusing on creating more jobs and boosting the regional economy.
