The newly renovated Manila Zoo opened as a vaccination site for kids and the elderly on Wednesday.
The zoo will accommodate 1,000 individuals, according to the city government, particularly minors aged 12 to 17 years old and senior citizens.
However, it said the vaccination site is also open for the parents and guardians of the minors coming to get the jabs.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno stressed in a public briefing that there are no walk-ins allowed at the vaccination site, given the limited slots, and to also prevent crowding amid the pandemic.
"You have to register to get a free ticket. So magpaparehistro kayo to go kasi ganito po yun, isang libong indibiwal pa lamang ang bubuksan natin araw-araw," he said.
(You have to register to get a free ticket. So get registered because only 1,000 people will be allowed in every day.)
The mayor said the receivers of the jabs may also take a tour around the newly renovated zoo.
"Ito magbabakuna ka na, nakapamasyal ka pa," he said.

He added that vaccination and the tour around the zoo will be free.
Those who want to get vaccinated may book their appointment at the www.manilacovid19vaccine.ph, while pre-registration to enter the zoo must be made at www.manilazoo.ph.
Manila Zoo reopened late last year to a select crowd after it underwent renovation. The new park features new attractions and better facilities for the animals housed there.
