The Manila City government is set to begin the booster shot drive-thru vaccination caravan for 4-wheel vehicle owners on Thursday, January 13.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso made the announcement on Wednesday, January 12 during his inspection at the Quirino Grandstand where he was joined by Vice Mayor Dra. Honey Lacuna and other government officials.
"Due to the request of our constituents and the people, i-innovate natin itong vaccination drive-thru dito sa Luneta. Imbis na first and second dose lang, gagamitin natin siya ngayon na booster vaccination drive-thru site [Instead of only for first and second dose, we will use this as booster vaccination drive-thru site]," Moreno said.
"So ibig sabihin pwede jeep, taxi, private, o mga korporasyon, pwede po silang magtungo dito sa Luneta drive-thru vaccination site ng City of Manila," he added.
[So that means jeep, taxi, private or corporate, they can all go here in Luneta drive-thru vaccination site of the City of Manila.]
Moreno added that the booster shot drive-thru vaccination will implement a first-come, first-served policy to the first 300 vehicles with a maximum of five recipients per car.
Thus, this brings about 1,500 doses of booster shot vaccine with all brands available for deployment daily.
The booster shot vaccination is open for the general public, including those residing outside Manila, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
"We welcome you to the City of Manila, basta tayo tulong-tulong muna. Ang importante, ma-booster yung tao, mabakunahan yung tao para maiwasan ang kamatayan sa impeksyon ng COVID19. Vaccination is the solution. That is the only way to protect yourself and your family," the mayor stated.
"So ngayon palalakasin pa natin, palalawakin pa natin, Yayakapin natin hangga't kaya natin yakapin kahit sino, kahit taga-saan, basta ang importante, tao muna, mabuhay ang tao, maligtas ang tao," he added.
As of Tuesday, January 11, about 198,454 booster shots have already been deployed by the city government since it started its mass booster shot vaccination to the public.
Among the vaccination sites in the nation's capital where booster shots are being administered are in malls, community sites, and some special sites.
