Malacañang reiterated on Wednesday that there is no information indicating that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is pursuing the impeachment or impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro emphasized that there has been no indication of any confidence or move to remove the Vice President from office.
The response was made in relation to a question on whether the administration is confident that the impeachment case against Duterte could move forward based on the incoming composition of the Senate following the recently concluded 2025 midterm elections.
Castro explained that the President is focused on fostering unity among all newly elected officials, regardless of party affiliation.
Marcos has already clarified that he has no role in the impeachment of the Vice President, asserting that the executive branch cannot "have a hand" in the impeachment process.
