The Malabon City Police on Friday said that the case of Daniel Gaudia Soria, the 20-year-old male who was killed on August 28, has no connection to Jemboy Baltazar, the victim of Navotas police' mistaken identity.
According to Edwin Duque's report in MBC Network News, PCol. Jay Baybayan said that Soria's death was different from Jemboy Baltazar's case.
Soria was allegedly shot by suspects in Jemboy's murder as recounted by the the live-in-partner of the latter's brother.
On the other hand, Jemboy Baltzar's death was due to a misaken identity incident, which has led several Navotas police officers to be charged and relieved from their posts.
According to a witness, Reynaldo Bolivar, Soria may have been the target of the gunman who wanted to retaliate against him. But Soria was the one who was caught.
Soria had multiple gunshot wounds that led to his death.
LA Morale, Soria's live-in partner, earlier admitted that her brother, Bolivar was the real target of policemen but Baltazar was mistaken.
