Magnitude 4.6 quake jolts Abuyog, Leyte

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake hit East of Abuyog, Leyte on Tuesday, July 2, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
According to PHIVOLCS, the earthquake originated from a tectonic hit at 1:52 a.m.
It has a depth of 3 kilometers.
The reported intensities are as follows:
- Intensity III - Dulag, Mayorga, Javier, Macarthur, and Abuyog, LEYTE; Silago, Hinundayan and Hinunangan,
SOUTHERN LEYTE; Balangiga, Lawaan, and Giporlos, EASTERN SAMAR - Intensity II - Burauen, Tanauan, Tolosa, Palo, Santa Fe, and Alangalang, LEYTE; CITY OF TACLOBAN;
Quinapondan, Guiuan, Mercedes, Salcedo, General MacArthur, Hernani, Llorente, Maydolong, and City of
Borongan, EASTERN SAMAR

Instrumental Intensities:
- Intensity II - Hinunangan, SOUTHERN LEYTE; Abuyog and Dulag, LEYTE
- Intensity I - Hinundayan, SOUTHERN LEYTE; Alangalang, LEYTE; City of Catbalogan, SAMAR
Meanwhile, PHIVOLCS said no damage and aftershocks are expected.
A magnitude 4.9 earthquake also hit East of Abuyog, Leyte yesterday, July 1 with a depth of 10 kilometers.
