LTO suspends license of SUV driver in viral road rage incident
by Ada Pelonia01 December 2023

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday, Nov. 30, suspended the driver’s license of the sports utility vehicle (SUV) driver involved in the viral road rage incident in Taguig City.

LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II said the driver’s license and registration were suspended for 90 days pending the result of the LTO-National Capital Region’s ongoing probe.

In the now-viral video, the SUV driver was seen shouting at the truck driver, demanding his driver’s license.

“Personal kong nakita ang video at nakita natin ang mga violations na nagawa ng SUV driver. Kaya agad kong inatasan ang LTO-NCR na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon tungkol dito,” Mendoza said.

LTO did not name the SUV driver but noted that they issued a show cause order directing the SUV driver to submit a notarized letter as to why he should not be penalized for violating three traffic rules, namely reckless driving, obstruction of traffic, and improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
