LTO eyes nationwide caravan for 24M unregistered motor vehicles
by Ada Pelonia29 November 2023

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Wednesday, Nov. 29, said it is eyeing a registration caravan to encourage delinquent owners to register their motor vehicles following the strict implementation of the “no registration, no travel” policy.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza said the caravan would be directed nationwide in coordination with respective local government units (LGUs), particularly at the barangay level.

We will be going to bring the services of the LTO closer to our clients,” he added, noting that delinquent owners stand to face getting their motor vehicles impounded.

The LTO chief stated that the caravan will simplify the registration process, especially for LTO clients with difficulty using online platforms.

Nearly 24.7 million motor vehicles were unregistered while Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon regions ranked with the most number of delinquent owners, according to the LTO’s data.
