Hawaii-based Filipino social media personality Bretman Rock was honored by the House of Representatives in Hawaii for his global influence.
On Thursday, Hawaii State Rep. Darius Kila recognized the 25-year-old Filipino American from the city of Ewa Beach at the state's capitol in Honolulu.
"Bretman, your journey is a testament to the power of dreams and resilience, and the human spirit. You have overcome obstacles and defied expectations, blazing a trail for others to follow. Your influence reaches far beyond our shorelines and have touched the lives of countless individuals across Hawaii and beyond, inspiring to embrace our uniqueness and celebrate our individuality," Kila said.
"Please know that wherever you go in the world, you have a community of supporters who are cheering you on every step of the way in Nānākuli, Waipahu, Ewa Beach, Waikīkī, in Hawai'i and even here in the house chamber," he added.
Bretman received lei and a certificate from the legislature's Filipino caucus.
For his part, Bretman thanked the official for letting him "live my First Lady fantasy" and for letting him spend the day with the Filipino caucus.
"Thank you so much for the opportunity, I never thought this would ever happen, I was just an Ewa Beach boy twerking behind the manupua truck, giving MTV crib tours of my highschool and singing my boba song everywhere," he wrote on Instagram.
Bretman, who recently celebrated his eighth year on social media, currently has 18.9 million followers on Instagram.
He last visited the Philippines in August 2023 to celebrate his birthday in Palawan.
Congratulations to the Baddest B!
