Sofia Vergara showed photos of the “Modern Family” cast’s first family reunion after the series ended in 2020.
“So lucky to have worked with this people for 11 years❤️. I love and miss u all guys!!! #modernfamily,” Vergara’s caption read.
All but Ty Burrell was included in the family picture, but it was easily remedied by an image of his character Phil Dunphy in a frame.

While netizens slammed the cast for making fans think Burell passed away, Eric Stonestreet (who plays Cameron Tucker in the show) said it was all but a running joke.
“For 11 years we would take family pictures for Modern Family and without missing one ever, I would always say, ‘now let’s do one without Ty.’ Last night Ty couldn’t make it to our little impromptu reunion, so I had to bring his favorite picture of Phil so we could ‘do one without Ty,’” his caption read.
