After being enmeshed in a viral death hoax, Lil Tay broke her silence through a statement to the TMZ report.

“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say. It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess,” the young rapper told TMZ.

She added that her Instagram account was hacked by a third party that spread “jarring misinformation and rumors” regarding her.

Lil Tay became viral in 2018 after a video of her holding wads of cash and riding luxury cars gained traction online.
