More than 1,400 priests, bishops, and deacons have formally endorsed the candidacy of presidential bet Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan.
In a press conference on Wednesday, May 5, the Clergy for the Moral Choice (CMC) reminded Filipinos of their "sacred duty to vote and to vote only for the right leaders of this our beloved country, the Philippines, to choose and to elect true servant-leaders whose hearts are really after the heart of the Good Shepherd, just like Leni and Kiko."
Their endorsement comes after the religious sect Iglesia Ni Cristo, who's known for bloc-voting, announced their support for the tandem of former senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
The INC has an estimated 3 million members in the Philippines and in over 150 countries and territories overseas. It was founded by Felix Manalo who served as the first Executive Minister of INC.
In the latest Pulse Asia survey result, Marcos and Duterte remained to be the top choices in the presidential and vice-presidential posts.
