Celebrity lawyer Joji Alonso revealed on Thursday night that her clients, P-pop girl group BINI, have filed a legal complaint against an unnamed party.
In an Instagram story, Alonso shared a cropped image of what appeared to be the first page of the complaint, showing BINI as the complainant. She did not disclose the respondent's identity or details about the case.
The development comes amid recent online harassment incidents targeting the group. In the past weeks, BINI faced backlash on social media after a video of them rating various Filipino street foods stirred debate among netizens.
They were also dragged into controversy when social media personality Christian “Xian” Gaza made a viral Facebook post saying, "Gen Z, it's okay to have sex as long as you use condoms to avoid getting pregnant. Especially to that member of Bini who likes to have sex."
BINI — composed of members Gwen, Aiah, Sheena, Mikha, Maloi, Jhoanna, Stacey, and Colet — is known for hit songs such as “Pantropiko,” “Salamin Salamin,” and “Cherry on Top.”
BINI has yet to issue an official statement about the harassment or the legal action filed on their behalf.
