This year, the nation’s girl group is again recognized for its immense influence and continuous effort to push beyond the influence of the global popularity of K-pop.
On Thursday, May 14, Forbes finally announced its 30 Under 30 Asia lists. Included in the Entertainment and Sports list is P-pop girl group BINI.
The octet was among the young individuals who also bled with power and excellence in their respective fields.
According to Forbes, BINI started 2025 with a 15-city world tour and a sold-out concert at home, packing up 50,000 seats in the Philippine Arena. Besides that, the eight-member group was also hailed as the Best Asia Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards and the Billboard K Power 100’s Voice of Asia Award in 2024.
Last March, Billboard Philippines named the members its Women of the Year for surpassing a billion streams on Spotify.
According to Forbes, the members had been making waves in the music and entertainment industry. That’s why they’re the only girl group to make it to this year’s list.
Meanwhile, K-pop was represented by two boy bands–Stray Kids and Big Ocean–recognizing them for the unique qualities they bring to the Korean music industry.
Stray Kids is known for producing “rock hits with a noisier, more industrial sound than the usual K-pop group,” says Forbes.
Big Ocean is the first group to have members with hearing impairments. Their vocals are recorded using artificial intelligence (AI), and they wear special vibrating devices during their stage performances to help them synchronize dance movements.
