

The province of Laguna will be placed under Alert Level 3 starting January 7 to January 15, according to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Wednesday.
This comes after the IATF approved the recommendation of the sub-Technical Working Group on Data Analytics to raise the alert level in the province.
This makes Laguna the latest province to be included in areas placed under Alert Level 3, after the Cavite, Bulacan, and Rizal, as well as the entire National Capital Region.
Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez said this is in relation to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the NCR and nearby provinces.
"Muli po ang ating paalala na mag-ingat at palaging sumunod sa minimum health protocols," he said on Facebook.

Under Alert Level 3, the following establishments are not allowed to operate:
- Face-to-face classes for basic education
- Contact sports
- Funfairs/perya
- Karaoke bars, clubs, concert halls, theaters,
- Casinos, horse racing, cockfighting, operation of cockpits, lottery and betting shops, and other gaming establishments not authorized by the IATF
- Gatherings from members of different households
Meanwhile, the following indoor activities are permitted with a 30% capacity, while 50% for outdoor venues:
- Individual outdoor exercise
- Amusement parks or theme parks
- Meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions
- Wedding parties, engagements, debut, birthday parties
- Tourist attractions, such as libraries, archives, museums, parks, and more
- Cinemas
- In-person classes for higher education and technical-vocation education and training
- Recreational venues
- Dine-in services
The country on Wednesday reported 10,775 new cases of COVID-19, pushing the country's total caseload to 2,871,745.
