Kristen Bell is making a momentous return as the host of the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards next year!
The award-winning actor and producer was the first-ever host of the inaugural awards in 2018. The SAG Awards had gone hostless in its first 23 years before Kristen was given the chance to host.
“Thrilled to be hosting the SAG Awards again this year,” Kristen said in a press release.
“I’m honored to be asked back and can’t wait to share the evening with my fellow actors, doing what we do best ... celebrating ourselves,” she added.
Additionally, the SAG Awards Executive Producer Jon Brockett stated that Kristen’s charm blends well with the awards show.
"Kristen Bell’s wit, warmth, and charm make her the perfect fit for our show - a night celebrating actors and the outstanding performances of the year,“ he expressed.
”Plus — everybody wants this," he added.
Among those who will receive a prestigious award is legendary actor and activist, Jane Fonda. She will be receiving SAG-AFTRA’s highest tribute: the SAG Life Achievement Award. The rest of the nominees will be announced on January 8, 2025.
The annual SAG Awards will be held on February 23, 2025, at 8 PM Eastern time, at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
Every year, outstanding motion picture and television performances of the year are celebrated through the awards show. According to the SAG Awards website, the winners are voted on by SAG-AFTRA’s diverse membership, the largest voting body on the awards circuit.
In 2023, the show streamed on Netflix via YouTube, with Idris Elba as its host. The upcoming show marks the second year of an exclusive, multi-year partnership between SAG Awards and Netflix.
Meanwhile, Kristen is set to reprise her role as Joanne for Season 2 of Nobody Wants This,” a comedy series centered on the unlikely relationship between an outspoken woman and an unconventional rabbi.
