Korean trot singer Haesoo passes away at 29

South Korean trot singer Haesoo passed away at the age of 29, her representative shared on her official fan café Haesoopia earlier this week.

"On May 12, Haesoo left our side and became a light in the vast ocean. Haesoo was a warm person who knew how to give love to those around her, share affection, and receive it," the statement read as translated by Korean media outlet Soompi.

"Her bereaved family, as well as her acquaintances and colleagues, are all mourning her with heavy hearts after being informed of the sudden sad news," it added.

The statement noted that the funeral will be held “quietly and privately,” according to the family’s wishes.

“We earnestly ask you to refrain from spreading speculation, malicious reports, and rumors so that the deeply saddened bereaved family may mourn and peacefully send off the deceased,” the statement said.

According to police reports, an unknown individual was found dead by authorities residence on May 12. There was also what was presumed a suicide note.

On May 15, it was confirmed to be trot singer Haesoo, whose real name Kim Ara.

Born in 1993, the trot singer made her musical debut as a trot singer in 2019 and was growing her fan base following the release of her single album, 'My Life I Will'.

Haesoo was last seen on KBS TV shows 'Immortal Songs' and 'Boss in the Mirror'.
