The southbound portion of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) – Kamuning flyover is now open to traffic after undergoing four months of rehabilitation.

The newly repaired lanes were officially opened by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Thursday morning.

"EDSA-Kamuning Flyover (SB) is now passable to all types of vehicles," read the signage installed at the site.

According to a report by Val Gonzales, the contractor of the repaired project is the same company that handled the construction of Star City, the amusement park located in Pasay City.

The Southbound lane of Kamuning flyover was partially closed on May 1 to allow for the rehabilitation work, which aimed to strengthen the structure and serve as a preventive measure against natural disasters such as earthquakes.

The repair work affected two lanes of the flyover, while the remaining lane was designated exclusively for the EDSA busway.

According to the MMDA Traffic Engineering Center, approximately 24,000 four-wheeled vehicles and 23,000 motorcycles traverse the southbound lane of the EDSA-Kamuning flyover daily.
