The Philippine national men's volleyball team welcomes a new head coach.
In the sidelines of the Volleyball Nations League - Manila leg at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, June 22, Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon 'Tots' Suzara revealed the appointment of Italian coach Angelo Frigoni.
"He is here to share with us his expertise and to bring our team and elevate their skills," Suzara told reporters.
Frigoni takes the reigns of the Alas Pilipinas Men from Coach Segio Veloso, who will now serve as the new director for junior development of PNVF.
Suzara said that Veloso will helm the under-18 and under-20 men's and women's national teams.
"He is basically in charge of feeding the senior national team with very young players. He's focused more on the upcoming university players to play in the national team," the PNVF chief explained.
Suzara said that Veloso will travel to Cebu for the 2024 Palarong Pambansa and other provinces to look for rising talents.
