Influencer Jam Magno, whose real name is Jessica Ann Mancao Magno, surrendered to Butuan City police authorities over a psychological violence case but was released after posting the prescribed bail bond.
Magno, a rabid supporter of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, personally confirmed the news by posting a photo of her smiling mugshot and a certificate of detention issued by the Butuan City Police Station 4.
"Have you ever seen a mugshot that's much prettier than mine? Still dili makatarog [hindi makatulog]. Funny that people said I was arrested. Hahahahahaha. Correction. I surrendered and posted my 72,000 peso bail," she said in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
The influencer denied that she had asked the Butuan City Police for a discount on her total bail bond.
Magno then thanked the Butuan police for her "wonderful experience" during her stay in detention and for the smooth process of her bail.
"And to be fair ha. Thank you to the Butuan City Police Station 4 for the wonderful experience today. I actually loved it! Hahahahaha! And to Barangay Ampayon's New Barangay Captain Kim Acalayen for the fast process of my Bail Requirements," she said.
In a separate lengthy Facebook post, the influencer shared her jail experience and shared some advice to her followers on what to do when facing a criminal case.
Magno first pointed out that smiling in a mugshot is not allowed.
"But since it was such a chill surrender the Policeman who took my Mugshot only agreed to do so because I also agreed that we would take a selfie after (he was a supporter of mine, and his phone had a much better camera than the Station Hotline)," she added.
The influencer said she had "a very tight schedule this December" which was why she monitored the release of an arrest warrant and processed the bail bond afterward.
She told her followers that they could ask for a lower prescribed bail bond with the help of a lawyer. Magno then listed the list of documents required to present when posting bail.
"I am so grateful for yesterday's adventure that is truly one for the books and it took 8 hours to complete it and after I got my paperwork done," she furthered.
